We are a hardship fund for poets set up in 2021 in response to years of rampant austerity and its effect on our art. Our aim is to support poets based in the UK who are experiencing hardship.
We publish a bi-monthly magazine [ Ludd Gang ]. Issues can be bought on a one-off or rolling subscription basis.
Requesting funds from us is simple + accessible to everyone. We do not require proof of identity or publishing history, though we may sometimes ask to see a poem just to check that you’re a practising poet.
Funds can be requested once a month via email.
The Poets Hardship Fund is organized by Dom Hale, Alex Marsh, Sam Weselowski and Tom Crompton.
We love working in collaboration with other poets, artists, editors and community groups – if you’d like to help out please get in touch.
The Poets Hardship Fund is committed to the Palestinian international call for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) and the Palestinian Academic and Cultural Boycott (PACBI).
